Chris, my favorite memory of you was this year (my junior year) at Gale Woods. I was running with people I had never run with before, and I was at what felt like my limit. I was coming into the finish, up that final hill, when you saw me. I remember you shocked, screaming “Jensen you count, you count!!” Telling me to pass the edina girl in front of me. You motivated me through the final 400 of that race into a PR, and in so so many more races. And when you gave the speech when you gave me the most improved JV award you made me feel like I truly belonged on the team. I wouldn’t be the runner I am today without you. You constantly pushed me to be the very best runner that I could be, and taught me to run and keep fighting even when it hurts. You made such a special impact on the team, and I’m going to miss you so much. Chris, I hope this isn’t the last time we see you, but I wish you luck in Wisconsin. Thank you for making me a better person and runner.
